By SuperyachtDesign. Mar 08, 2010With bold concepts like Private and OrganiK under his belt, French designer Sylvain Viau’s latest superyacht design has taken a different tact. The 55-metre Esquisse is much more conventional than Viau’s other concepts with her sleek profile and balanced lines, as well as her silver hull and superstructure.
Only the basic details have been released about the design, which incorporates some interesting energy saving devices. The use of a diesel-electric plant to produce electricity and high power for speed when required, without the need for heavy diesel engines. Solar heaters for sanitary hot water are integrated into the darker part of the superstructure, providing added power saving.
The internal arrangement of Esquisse is not unusual a ship of this size. The owner's suite can be found on the main forward deck, with the saloon on the aft main deck and top deck, and VIP cabins and crew quarters on the lower deck.
